BiographyWalter Ernest Tittle was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 9, 1883. Tittle studied at the New York School of Art and Art Students League under Chase, Henri, and Mora. As well as an artist, he was also a writer who contributed to Century magazine, Scribner’s, and Illustrated London News. In the 1950s he was in Danbury, Connecticut and later settled on the Monterey Peninsula. He died in Carmel, CA on March 27, 1966.

Exhibited: National Academy of Design; Royal Society of Artists (London); National Arts Club, 1931; California Printmaker Society, 1932; Chicago Society of Etchers, 1934; Corcoran Gallery (Washington, DC) 1937.
