Painter, engraver.
Josiah Boydell was the nephew of John Boydell. He worked on the edition of Shakespeare published by his uncle. He exhibited paintings at the Royal Academy between 1772 and 1776, and at the Society of Artists in 1776. In London, he filled the role of alderman. His notable engravings include portraits and religious subjects.
