Levi Wells Prentice

Levi Wells Prentice was born in Lewis County, New York in 1851. He received little or no formal training as a painter, and concentrated on landscapes and portraits in his early career. He later became known as a still life painter after he moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1883. Little is known about Prentice after 1903, when he moved from Brooklyn. He died in Philadelphia in 1935.
