Charles ShawAmerican, 1892 - 1974

Shaw was born in New York in 1892, and studied at Yale University and the Art Students' League with Thomas Hart Benton. He studied with George Luks. After serving in World War I, he lived in Europe during the 1920s and worked as a freelance writer. Upon his return to the United States, he took up painting as a profession, exhibiting his work in New York. He died in 1974.
