Chupicuaro

Chupícuaro is located near the Lerma River near to Acámbaro in the state of Guanajuato (now covered by the Solís dam). The culture was formed in the Pre Classic or Formative period between 400 B.C. and A.D.200, the time when Teotihuacán, on the high central plain, flourished.
