Charles Cave studied printmaking and bookmaking at the Croydon College of Art and Design, London, England, where we received a certificate in 1975
Mr. Cave includes handmade paper in his artist's books and prints and incorporates print processes in his recent installations.
His books and prints are held in numerous collections, including the British Museum, Library of Congress, the Chicago Art Institute, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Mr. Cave's books and prints have been included in many national and international exhibitions including most recently; the 69th International Print Competition at the Print Club, ARC National Artist-Made Books Exhibition, ARC Gallery, Chicago, and the Sapporo International Print Biennale, Sapporo, Japan.
Mr. Cave's print installations have been seen at the Art Museum Complex, Duxbury, Massachusetts; Artists Book Works, Chicago; Erector Square Gallery, New Haven; the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and the Dayton Art Institute.
Recent one-person exhibitions include Prairie State College, Denison University and Juniata College.
Mr. Cave has received a fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and participated in three residencies at the Centrum voor Grafiek Frans Masereel, Kasterlee, Belgium.
