Grueby PotteryAmerican, founded 1897

Grueby Pottery was founded in 1897, by William Grueby of Boston, Massachusetts. The manufactory produced pottery in the Arts and Crafts style until about 1909, when their focus changed to art tiles. Grueby is well known for its matte-glazed pots and vases, often in brown, green and blue tones. Their pottery is typically decorated with stylized organic shapes in relief, especially leaf and foliate forms.
