Born c. 1623, in Amsterdam; died before April 1667, in Amsterdam.

Painter, engraver, draughtsman. Landscapes, waterscapes, architectural views, seascapes.

Reinier Zeeman began his working life a sailor, then turned to painting. He travelled in France around 1650 and probably also visited the coast of North Africa. He was employed in Berlin by Frederick William, and returned to Amsterdam before July 1652. He made etchings.
