William Barnes Wollen was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, an the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists. He exhibited in London from 1879, in particular at the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute. He also exhibited in Paris in 1889 at the Exposition Universelle, winning a silver medal.
