Don KirbyAmerican, born 1936

Don Kirby (American, born 1936) has extensively explored the western US landscape. Originally an

engineer working in aerospace, he took workshops with Bruce Barnbaum, John Sexton, Ansel Adams,

and ultimately teaching with Bruce, Jay Dusard, Stu Levy, and Huntington Witherill. His work has been

widely exhibited and can be found in the collections of St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Art, FL; George

Eastman House, NY; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA; Houston Museum of Fine Arts, TX; Portland

Art Museum, OR; Peabody Essex Museum, MA; and New Mexico History Museum, Santa Fe, NM. He

is married to Joan Gentry, another photographer gifting artwork to the museum.
