Arthur FloryAmerican, 1914 - 1972

Born in Lima, Ohio, Arthur Flory became a graphic artist and illustrator of children's books. Many of his prints employ the abstract language of line, shape, and color. Flory studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art and the National Academy of Design.[This is an excerpt from the interactive companion program to the videodisc American Art from the National Gallery of Art.
