BiographyRobert M. Czapp Sr., 70, a photographer and audiovisual specialist at the Government Printing Office from the late 1970s until his retirement in 2008, died March 16 at Inova Fairfax Hospital after a heart attack.

Mr. Czapp worked as a photographer in Dayton, Ohio, and Chicago during the early 1970s. Most notably he was the staff photographer for Chicago's PBS station, WTTW, taking photos of Norman Mailer, Bill Cosby and Bob Dylan, among others.

Robert Michael Czapp was born in Dumfries and graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas in 1956. During the 1960s, he was a letter carrier in Alexandria.

He was a member and volunteer at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More.
