BiographyAmerican artist Robert Ranieri obtained his BFA and MFA at the Tyler School of Art of Temple University. He spent two years of postgraduate work in Rome, Italy, on a Fulbright Grant. Following this, Ranieri resided fourteen years in New York City honing and exhibiting his art. He has since moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he works intensely, painting in acrylic and oil, while sculpting in the medium of welded steel with cast concrete.

The youngest son of Italian-born parents, Ranieri profits from an inherent knowledge of the Italian language, and draws upon this skill to access classical art through literature and music. He also is influenced by Etruscan terra cotta sculpture and architectural forms. His strong connexion with Asian art, and in particular his appreciation for Japanese architecture and garden techniques, has not only had an elevating effect on his painting and sculpture, but he has also utilized this experience in his landscape architecture designs.

Robert has works in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.C.; the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, Va; the Muscarlle Museum of Art in Williamsburg, Va.; the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, Ala.; and the Henie Onstad Institute in Oslo, Norway.
