Biography: "Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 8, 1956. Learned to weave at Kingswood School Cranbrook in the 1970's. Received a B.A. in Art History at Case Western Reserve in 1978. Worked at John Weber Gallery, NYC , a gallery that represented primarily minimalist and conceptual artists. Received an Individual Artist Excellence Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council in 2003. I consider myself a conceptual textile artist.I work in traditional ways using non-traditional materials. Materials present themselves to me. I use the word ''materials'' both literally and figuratively. The initial impetus for my work was an interest in protective devices, armor, clothing, shelter, totems, etc. My work will never be worn or shelter or protect in any regular way, it is mysterious, sensual, and funny. Narrative and craftsmanship play equal roles in my work."
