Louis Conrad Rosenberg
American, 1890 - 1983
During his career Rosenberg etched and engraved many architectural views throughout both Europe and the United States. Of major interest however were the buildings of Rome, Venice and Constantinople, and he created an impressive collection of views of these three cities over of period of more than twenty years. For such fine work Rosenberg was awarded the Silver Medal from the California Print Maker's Society (1924) and the Logan Medal from the Chicago Society of Etchers (1925 & 1927).
Louis Conrad Rosenberg was a full member of the Philadelphia Society of Etchers, the Brooklyn Society of Etchers, the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Royal Society of Painters, Etchers and Engravers, London. Today his original etchings and engravings are found in the following collections, the Smithsonian Institution, the Congressional Library, Washington, and the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum, London.
