“I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and attended Dayton Public Schools where I had a strong interest in art. My father and my brother had interest in art that inspired me to try it.
“After graduating from Belmont High School in 1989, I attended Sinclair Community College where I met Curtis Barnes. Curtis had a huge impact on me, and he encouraged me to continue my artistic journey. Later, I met Dwayne Daniel who also instructed me in the foundations of the visual arts.
“Both Curtis and Dwayne encouraged me to join African American Visual Artist Guild (AAVAG). There, I was exposed to many different artists, styles and ideas involving artistic expression. Today, I continue to do artwork and take classes to explore different mediums and styles.”
