G. Changa Freeman, was born in Dayton, Ohio. Writer, Playwright, Essayist, Poet and Photographer, he has a passion for depicting stories of extraordinary people during their daily life through creative writing and visual art forms. At the core of his work, Freeman attempts to express the heart of a subject by bringing to light aspects of humanity in contemporary society that are not always readily noticed. As he explores spaces with an eye towards engaging individuals and settings, his intent is to convey a story in art form through representing a moment in time.

His passion developed from an earlier exposure to the arts in his formative years when he witnessed a recitation performance of Paul Laurence Dunbar’s poem, In the Morning. Freeman was inspired to write out of a motivation to share the accounts in his surroundings and the aspects of people around him. This inspired a greater appreciation of art as a means of storytelling; and specifically, to narrate salient societal issues.

Currently, Freeman hosts “Art in The Spirit” with Lady T productions at DATV studios; and he is the General Membership Chair of the African American Visual Arts Guild.

Published literary works includes poetry and essay, Mortal Man II, a photo essay by Aaron Paschal.

Education and Training background includes Organizational Management, Wilberforce University (1993–1994); Fashion Design, Fashion Institute of Technology (1982–1983); Clothing Construction Apprentice, Wright-Patterson AFB (1978–1981); and Associate of Arts degree in Commercial Art Technology, Sinclair Community College (1984).
