James Durno
British, 1752 - 1795
Painter. History painting.
James Durno produced some interesting works very early in life, giving the impression of a precocious talent, but never fulfilled that early promise. After working with Andrea Casali and then with West, he did two pictures for the Shakespeare Gallery of Boydell. In 1774 he went to Italy, where he died.
