Thomas Kirk
British, 1765 - 1797
Painter, engraver, illustrator. Historical subjects, portraits, genre scenes.
Thomas Kirk was a student of Cosway. His drawing skills, choice of subjects and the quality of his colours enabled him to hold his own among other painters of historical subjects and genre scenes. He was equally successful with illustration and miniatures, and is also noted for his engravings. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1785 to 1796.
