1999-2007 :: ART DIRECTOR
New Seasons Stationery, Publications International, Ltd., Lincolnwood, Illinois.
I created stationery products including home office supplies, scrapbooks, photo albums and photo storage, memory books, keepsake boxes, journals, planners, diaries, note cards and invitations for the adult, infant, and tween markets. I worked with the CEO, marketing staff, creative directors, copy editors and production editors. Some of my design concepts were materials-based and many others utilized acquired art which I customized to individual projects. I also created original illustrations for several successful projects. I designed prototypes which were sent to China for fabrication testing. I extensively researched and compiled visual trend information and created presentation boards for our sales team. I hired and mentored employees who have gone on to make significant contributions to the company.

1995-1998 :: RETAIL GRAPHIC DESIGNER
True Value Company, Chicago, Illinois.
I designed circulars and point of purchase display for True Value Hardware. I created collateral materials, visual themes for special promotions and holidays, internet page design, and 3-D display units for the signature True Value Workshop Santa stuffed toy and Toys for Tots collection bins. I collaborated with designers and manufacturers to create the Workshop Santa stuffed toy. I directed photography and style for circulars and other projects.

1993-1995 :: RETAIL GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Montgomery Ward, Chicago, Illinois.
I designed print media advertising. I generated ideas for promotional events and graphics for print media. My designs were used for numerous logos and call-out icons. I designed POP package concepts.

1990-1993 :: RETAIL GRAPHIC DESIGNER / DISPLAY ARTIST
Books & Co., Dayton, Ohio.
I designed and built graphics and 3-D environments to merchandise new and notable books. Display sizes ranged from table top displays to full window display environments. I actively participated in planning meetings for special events. My work was praised for contributing excitement to the culture of the store.

1985-1986 :: RETAIL GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Elder-Beerman Department Stores, Dayton, Ohio.
I designed daily newspaper ads and broadside supplements, catalogs, in-store flyers, posters, toppers, display graphics and invitations for company sponsored special events. I attended sales team meetings and worked with staff photographers, copywriters, buyers and special event coordinators.

1989-1990 :: ADJUNCT ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ART

I taught three academic quarters of beginning and intermediate level drawing courses and three levels of introductory 2-D and 3-D design. I developed a new curriculum for the three academic quarters of Introduction to Design classes. I have also taught college and community level courses in printmaking and painting.
