“I have been quilting for twenty-seven years and have found it to be the most rewarding journey I ever could have taken. I have learned so much and gained so many wonderful friends in the process. I think of my work as an autobiography, expressing pieces of my life. Each quilt tells a story, not only about me and my life, but also about my hopes and dreams, tragedies and joys, my tears, accomplishments and remembrances.
Art is a healing process to me, almost spiritual. I have been teaching and lecturing since 2008 and have found it a way of sharing myself with others; sharing the joy of each students own personal artistic journey. I have taught and shared my feelings about art with young girls in Africa on two different occasions, underserved girls in my community, and whenever asked. It is a wonderful feeling to love what you do and be able to share it with others.”
