Nakayama Masami

From 1924 to 1927 Nakayama Masami studied copper-plate engraving and mural painting in France. He produced large decorative compositions on fantastical themes, and murals. He published several works on engraving. While studying he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne. On returning to Japan, he exhibited at the Teiten Salon until 1931, at which point he stopped exhibiting for 20 years. In 1958 he showed work at the International Print Biennale in Tokyo, and the following year he became a member of the Japanese Engravers' Association.
